Hey friends, welcome back to another blog; looooonnggg timeeeee. This is going to be a short one where I express my thoughts on sacrificing, and how sacrifice is one of the keys to remaining focused. I thought of writing this blog after reading Steve Jobs’ quotes, where the genius says “Focus is saying no to things, to everything that you like and are attracted to. Saying no because you are focusing on something else. Focus is about saying no to many good ideas even if other people judge you and saying ‘yes’ to your great idea or vision”
We, as teenagers and human beings, can’t get everything, because everything has the right time. If we try to get everything at the same time, then it’s not possible and even if we get it then we can’t do justice to that thing (we’ll have to embrace mediocrity in that area of life).
Why do you think teens can’t marry/ earn money? Because we have other things to focus on, we need to grow mentally, and physically and have a purpose to live by, and goals to chase, we need to build our foundation, our ethics, and values. Even if we start a job/marriage we know that we won’t be able to do justice to that thing and in the end, we might end up losing it and hurting ourselves. Thus, in order to become successful in life, we need to be men driven with purpose and we need to realize that everything has a right time in life and that thing things will fall in place at the right time, like they say, “All in good time”
A real-life example of this will be none other than Elon Musk. He would work 100+ hours a week, that’s insane! But in this process, he had to sacrifice his family time, social life, sleep, and other desires. We cannot deny that the long-term effects of this weren’t very healthy for Elon Musk as he ended up with a divorce and probably missed out on quality time with his children. So, yes sacrifices can sometimes be a little not right in the long term but it all boils down to your purpose, vision, and how badly you want that thing (how much are you willing to lose).
‘Sometimes, pain is what teaches us to pay attention to when we’re young or careless. It helps show us what’s good for us versus what’s bad for us’
That’s it for today’s blog, these are my views, I might be wrong as well. Thank you and see ya'll next week.
